The Colon is a part of the large intestine and its main function is to ensure that water is extracted from the feces, Colitis is a disease the affects the colon. It is one of those digestive disorders which has your intestines infected further infecting the functioning of the entire digestive system.

What are the symptoms of Colitis?

For patients who are allergic to antibiotics or anti-inflammatory medicines, doctors prescribe a drug by the name of REMICAD. REMICADE is an FDA approved drug which is primarily used in the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis.

As most diseases, one can cure Colitis by following a simple diet. Eating anything which does not include carbohydrates, soft drinks and caffeine will do the trick for you. That means if you are diagnosed with Colitis, you may just have to say goodbye to the colas, coffee, pasta, ice cream, etc. If you are a carboholic, then, in this case, the cure by diet, may strike you as being worse than the disease.
